I have a 95 GLE and I have a question about aftermarket spoiler installation. The spoiler is OEM-type, with four attach points, two bolts per point. The inboard points look OK, as far as under-trunklid clearance for attaching the securing nuts, since there are cutouts in the metal substructure. However, I don't know about the outboard locations. There are no cutouts that close to the edge. Do you just bore out the drilled holes and make room for a socket to hand tighten the nuts? I haven't drilled any holes yet.
Also, which is the best wire to tap off for the spoiler brake light?

Well, on my typeII that I had, I didn't drill any holes on the outside except for the light. I made a "gasket" for the 4 pedestals, and drilled holes for the center pedestals. I never had any problems with leaks. Factory spoilers use plastic clips on the outside attachment points. As far as wiring, there is a factory wiring harness for the brake light on the trunk lid. Its hidden under the carpet cover on the under side on the trunk lid. Just use a test light to figure out which wire to use. Hope this helps!
