Free muffler for my car?

Since I put the new Y-pipe on my car I have hated the way it sounds with the aftermarket muffler on it. My friend has his old RSX-S muffler and said he will give it to me. The question is will this muffler flow enough CFM to support our car with out loosing any HP or will putting it on choke the air flow and cause losses in HP? So should I get it or not? Remember it's free.

hmmm, common sense to me is saying that that RSX muffler is gonna be more restrictive, simply b/c ur goin from a 2L Inline 4 to a 3.0L V-6... however, it might work... The RSX actually DOES have more HP (and a $HITload less torque) than us.... but I will let you decide when someone posts that ISN'T talking out of their A$$

It wont be totally free because you will need to have hangers mounted and stuff. Its not gonna be a bolt on install. You might as well look for a stock, used 4th gen muffler.

Yes we have 2 more cylinders but that car turns 8k but like I said I'd like to know the CFM before I go putting it on.

No it will be totally free we have a friend who owns a muffler shop that said he would do it free of charge.

check the diameter if the inlet of the exhaust, our pipe is about 2.25" so if the inlet is around that size or bigger (the muffler I just installed had a 2.5" inlet) then you should be fine

ohhh ok in that case go for it ! or if I had a friend who can do exhuast work for me free, I'd get a used 5th gen muffler for 125 bucks or so and have that welded in and not worry about the muffler til its time to throw away the car.
