Size of Gas Tank in Gallons

I've tried to use the search function but it tells me I'm not authorized to use it.

Here is my question. How many gallons of gasoline can our tanks hold?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks alot, I thought the same thing. I was calculating my gas mileage. I went 373 miles on 14.5 gallons which comes out to roughly 25.75 mpg. I drive about 65% Highway 35% City.

Whatever the size is, I'm happy to say that I just came back from vaction and I was able to drive from Austin,TX to New Orleans,LA on one tank of gas with a few miles to spare. That was a distance of 515 miles from gas station to gas station I then put 17.5 gallons back into the tank. I always over fill my tank until is overflows. To me that's the difference of almost a hundred highway miles...29 miles a gallon..not too shabby

I live in New Orleans and I've made it to Houston with the gas needle just under half. After it drops past half a tank gas seems to go faster for some reason.

I always overfill my tank as well, but not by much. Isn't there a concern that over-filling may damage the emissions stuff because the over flowing gas will go right to your charcoal canister purge control system etc

Yeah I've noticed that. I at least 120 miles down the road before the needle makes it back to F. You would think you are going to get 600 miles on that tank. Once the needle drops to the E and just below it, you are very close to having an empty tank. I have filled my tank with 18.3 gallons before.

I know some say not to do it but I thought it was because it's dangerous because of the pressure. Not sure about the emissions stuff you mentioned.
