removing stock seat covers, question and comments...

i got a pair of dark stock seat covers in brand new condition for $26 on ebay! i've only removed the passenger side so far. there are a million little rings that hold the covers to the cushion which were really difficult to remove with only needle nose pliers. so i decided i'm gonna use mini zip ties instead of redoing all those because it's such a pain.

has anyone else changed theirs or installed leather and found that it sux to remove and re-install?!? no wonder why people pay so much to have upholstery shops do this.

It's a crappy job, I used a few zip ties but mostly hog rings, they will be much sturdier over the long haul and hold nice and tight. I spent about 4 days off and on doing the whole car when I did it

i'm just about done. after doing the first front seat, the rest was somewhat a breeze but still took forever. just need to finish the top of the back seat tomorrow after work.

the only thing i'm not liking is that they don't exactly match the rest of my interior because i have so many different colors going on. maybe i'll change my dash to black and that'll settle it.

and i realized the person didn't send me the square part on the back of the seat so i have the tan there for now. it actually doesn't look horrible, sorta two toned style but i'm gonna try to get the right ones.

i'll definately say that these SE seat covers feel better and look better than my old gxe tan ones. the seller said the back seats were never even sat on because they were removed way back when, when she bought the car and switched to leather. good deal!
