intake question

I'm looking for a really cheap, bare minimum intake system. What do I need, where can I get it, and where can i find a detailed D-I-Y write-up? Will the JWT Popcharger be all I need? thanks

Just go get a Frankencar intake if you want something simple

Does replacing the intake affect the MAF? will it cause the CEL to go on?

Replacing the intake with and using filter that is overoiled will cause the MAF to go bad. Just make sure there are no air leaks or you'll get the CEL too.

JWT will work just fine!

I got the Stillen version...basically a JWT with Stillen engraved in the filter and it's like double the cost...

GAB!.. all u need are some basic parts from home depot or something... and a new filter... not sure how much the filter costs.. but i think it's around $40??? someone correct me if i'm wrong.....
this mod won't cost u much (but i heard this works better than any intake).... only thing is.. you're ognna have to mess with your stock parts...ie cut some plastic pieces on ur car...

How about putting in a drop-in K&N Filter. I also heard that most of the intake noise is supressed by a resonator located in the stock fresh air setup. I read somewhere that blocking off the resonator will increase the engine "growl". However, I don't know how it was blocked off.

How about a blast from the past. At one point there was a big debate over a Berk Intake and a FrankenCar. I saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=2417835226. Decent intake for very cheap. The filter looks like it needs a good cleaning.

Look at my above post. That is the same concept as a POP Charger but much cheaper.
