RE: I am soo upset, my windshield craked

I was driving home and a semi kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield. I just bought the car and it only has 2,000 miles. THe other bad part is i called my insurance 4 days ago to add the car to my existing policy and the lady has been sick and hasn't returned my calls. I hope i am covered because she told me i am covered for up to 10 days, and i haven't heard from her.

First off...sorry about the crack. That sucks!

Second...that is bull****...call and speak to a manager or someone else.

If it doesn't go across the windshield and is just a small star get it repaired. A good Auto glass place should do it for $50 and if the glass ever needs to be replaced they usually knock it off the total.
BTW the same thing happened to me around the same miles, I'm at 10k now with no spreading.

My insurance company covers fixing glass. I only have to pay if I have to get it replaced. Ask your company before doing anything!!

depends on your coverage. For my wifes car, we had a 500 deductible. Hell, the window was only 180. We just paid it out of pocket.

Even if it doesn't, I just replaced my front windshield for about $190 installed. Most insurance policies will cover any new or used car you buy for 30 days on your existing policy so I would think you are ok.

3 months ago a pebble hit my windshield on the expressway. It made a small "bullseye" about a half an inch from the left of the other side of the rearview mirror attaching plate. About a month ago I had another pebble hit the windshield right near the first one! Although it didn't get another wound, it made the original bullseye begin to crack horizontally like this: ----o----

It's about an inch on either side of the bullseye and I don't think it will spread anymore. I'm hoping that the summer heat won't make it worse.

I really don't see it when I'm driving because it's pretty much hidden behind the left side of the rearview mirror. Had an inspection last week and it passed.

Beware, they have been repaving the guarddamed Long Island Expressway and its chock full of fuking debris.

I got a bullseye type thing less than a month after I got the car.. a van kicked up a little rock that put about a dime size thing right in the center of my window. My insurance company payed to have it repaired but it didn't really work very well. Apparently those things are hit-or-miss.

But, almost a year later and no probs other than the fact I have to look at it every day

Where did you get it done so cheap?
Does it has tint on the top?
How do you like it so far?

Thanks.

I washed my car last night and went to sleep. Wake up and the crack got worse. Heck it went from 6" to 4x that. I guess i am calling insurance on monday morning. I jumped into the eclipse to go to work and realized how much i miss my eclipse. I have had it parked in my garage for 2 weeks now. Yesterday coming home in the Maxima i could push the crack lightly and see it spread.
