Anyone replaced the rubber shifter linkage mount?

While I was under my car putting on the Stage II SFCs, I reached up and felt the rubber shifter linkage mount. It looked old and weathered (not torn) and felt very soft. The mount in question is what holds the shifter linkage arm in place to the body. It's a black rubber mount, ~1" and 2" long. I got to thinking and I can only assume that this mount in under a lot stress with a 5 speed because the linkage torques with the motor therefore it constantly pulls on the rubber mount.

Have any of you replaced this mount. It looks easy and I wonder if the shift feel might improve a little.
