i suggest u buy VANS red taillight spray and you spray paint the inner lense (lense facing out the taillight and not towards the car).. the lense that i'm talking about is when you look at the opposite of the tail, that's where the bulb is closest too. spraypainting the outside of the tail probably won't come out as nice.

i think the VANS spray is made in Japan and it costs $30, but from what I heard, i think that's the best quality spray that will make your clear/reds come out nice. You could use the cheapo $5 Candy Apple Red can spray at Pep Boys, but I'd figure the VANS is the best to go with. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

Vans was used by DavidL when he was making the infamous red/clears

.....and mine still match perfectly 3years later!

I know at one point Stillen sold them. Not sure if they still do. Worth checking out.

DavidL7 has seemed to drop off the face of this earth. I think he's driving a Ford Festiva now.

All clears do not exist in the realm of commercial sales.

Tom,
you wanna paint the side facing you when you look at them, once the outter shell is off. Then maybe do a light coat on the inner part of the outter shell so you wont have that thinl clear line like mine do.

Hehehe. You took your lights apart before you even bought the paint? I guess you don't drive around much, or you had an extra set of lights lying around.

well, as soon as u get the outer tail shell off, u'll see another inner lense behind that outer tail. I think davidL7 painted the side of the lense which points OUTSIDE the car and not the lense that points to inside of the car. I hope this makes sense, if it doesn't, mayb what i'll do is take a picture of the taillight and show u what i mean.

I think the reason why it's no longer available is because it's illegal due to the all clear lense. A few years ago, people weren't painting the lense red. Instead, they were using colored bulbs which didn't put out the true red/amber colors. People were getting hassled so much by the law that people just stopped buying them and the market for these all clear lenses had dwindled down.

Anyhow, there's no way I'd pay 2 bills for those.
