$300 for service manual you can't have

Just got back from Nissan parts empty handed... I wanted to buy the 2003 Maxima service manual but no luck. Parts counter guy says it's only available on DVD (he probably meant CD) for $300 and is only available to shops/garages. How nice. What an endearing little company Datsun has become.

The dealers don't stock them. They are available from a third party publisher/vendor. I don't know about on CD or DVD though. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy and need my book. I have the info at work if you don't figure it out by Monday.

Was looking through my '03 owner's manual and came across this: http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissan/ Looks like the service manual can be purchased on cd or in print. Not sure if they're the same, but every so often manuals pop up on ebay.

HTH.

Here's the info you're looking for:

IE Link--> http://members.lycos.co.uk/LucyLu112/

Download the files that you want, and then change their extension from .jpg to .rar

If a file is already a .doc of .pdf, don't change it, its good like it is.

Download Winrar from here if you don't already have it: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar32b3.exe

Extract and enjoy the .pdfs!!! If you run into problems, let me know.

Thanks,

If someone would want to give me a copy of the 2001 Maxima for cheap, I would be willing to keep his identity a secret.

My e-mail address is pwaho@charter.net

Are you guys not paying attention? The location of the entire 2002 ESM is posted in this thread already along with instructions on what to do with the files at that site.

You can get it on Ebay. I got one for my 2002 and it was like 15 bucks, but the website above seems to have it too.

I was just wondering how different the engine information would be. I'm a noob (owned a 2k1 since May 22nd) but doesn't the 2k1 have the 3.0 and the 2k2 have the 3.5? Are they still very similar that I won't notice the difference?

BTW, I did download all of the files from the links above. Very good instructions. NO problems converting.

I got the FSM on CD-ROM for my 2002 for FREE! (gift from a local .org'er )

However, from what I understand, it may not be the COMPLETE version that the dealer has.
