Whirring noise (5spd)

Ok when I'm in first and have the clutch in under 10mph....my car makes a little whirring (whining?) noise as I approach 0...

Normal? bad? Help?

As you approach 0mph? Thats prolly your car about to stall.

first gear does make a whine sound...similar to reverse...

but if you're clutch is in, it shouldn't make any sound at all...should be the same as idle.

In forward...Well why would my car be stalling if my clutch is in?
It's when I'm slowing down to 0...I can't hear the noise till about 8mph or so

But it only happens when my clutch is in and I'm in first...any other gear it doesent happen

its like.... whrr whrr whrr whrr whrr and it slows down as I slow down...

Totally normal... It'll also do it in reverse. So does my Toyota pickup... no idea why...

because the gears are straight cut not helical. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think thats right.

Almost every 5spd does it, Mine does it if I put the car into first while still rolling before a stop. The sound probably has something to do with the way the gears are cut.
