Gates or Gatorback - where to buy?

Where online or offline can I buy a Gates or Gatorback belt for a 3.125" Pulley?

From reading the belt thread, I know I need Gates # K060705.

Is Gatorback a better belt or does it not matter?

Thanks,
IanS

I can get them from two local sellers Napa and a local service/parts station...good prices as well I think for Gates.

Yeah - no Auto Zones around here tho.

I see they are made by Goodyear....would a Goodyear Tire Shop have them?

Guess I'll call around...

That doesn't tell me where to buy one.

I edited because I found the answer there...no need to ask.

The Goodyear belt actually cost less than the Gates (doesn't necessarily mean it's not as good).

I didn't use the Gatorback because it would (theorectically) decrease the surface area in contact with the pulley. I didn't think it was a good tradeoff for the "quieter" belt. Just my opinion though.

Well, I bought the gatorback...may as well try it and see what happens.

My Gates belt has 0 wear and tear visibly...so if I don't like the gatorback, I'll just put the Gates back on.

Bought it from AutoZone.com for $32.00 shipped.

Next question:

WHat does the pulley retainer clip look like? I can use the same one from my old pulley on my new pulley right? (Don't need to buy another one)

How do I remove/replace the pulley?
(I know to remove the HEX Bolts to get the blower off the plate, but then what?)

Thanks!

You can use two "crowbar" ends and gently pry the pulley off (use shop towels). You could also get a pulley removal tool. The pulley shouldn't be on very tight. Don't lose the alignment pin when the pulley pops off.
