Power Yields For 60-1 Turbo

I am in the process of buying a turbo kit for my 95 SE. My quesiton is that if I raise the bar a little and get the 60-1 turbo over the standard T3-04 turbo, what will the power gains yield between the two? I know the standard gives roughly 100 ponies and torque, what could I expect with the 60-1? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

More maybe 120-140, but stock internals got to go. And remember the bigger the turbo the later it spools. Smaller turbos spool up faster and have boost sooner than bit t-60's or t-78's(huge). If I ever go turbo, I'll get a t3-04 for the streets and a big t-60 or bigger for the track...

Why not just use the T04E for all around?

Nigel (Turbo97se) Had a t4/60-1 in his Max and he was running 12psi everyday on stock internals!!!

I also have the t4/60-1 and Its running fine on stock internals! No problems so far. As for lag, its not as bad as everyone says. i'd say I get boost starting at about 4k!

Also, you can opt for the T04E and get the Ball-bearing option. Sure, it is an additional cost that many people do not want to spend. But, if you factor in not liking your turbo and having to get another one, the cost right there is more than just getting the good/better turbo right off the back.

Also, some people say to get a T3/T4 and then also get a bigger T4 for the track, it is not that easy. Usually, the flanges on the T4 are different than the flanges on the T3/T4. And, the T4 is a different sized turbo altogether, so it may not even it in the "current" setup of the turbo piping.....Just some little things to think about....

Nobody *****ed at you. All anyone said was that it was a lot more money which it is. BB isn't for everyone, not everyone needs to run a BB turbo.

Remember that Ball Bearing turbos are not rebuildable though. Unlike regular turbos or sc's that can be sent in for servicing, BB turbos are MUCH more expensive to fix and many times cant be fixed at all you have to get a new one!

Hehe! We have found a way to make it easier to swap turbos without having to even unbolt the turbo flange . Can't say any more than that since unfortunately there are people trying to copy our designs. The only thing you'd have to add is a reducer from the 4" outlet from the compressor.

I am happy with the 60-1. I find that it effectively makes the same power as a TO4E at lower rpm but has better on top. Yes it takes a bit longer to spool, but because it is more efficient, it generates the same power but with slightly lower boost needed. I have been waiting forever to try this new GT turbo, but I need to fix the clutch first! It should spool much faster and generate more power on the top end. You might want to check out the GT turbos but they are serious $$$!
