Time for new tires... Don't like goin 35-40 mph on the highway cause i hydroplane at any speed above that. This was the first real rain i've driven the tires in and they really are awful. on my old camry i could drive much quicker and feel more in control on the highway in rain. I felt like i was "floating" many many times during my drive, and its rather scary... haven't done my tire search yet, but if anyone wants to offer some quick advice on tires they have that perform well, feel free.

Are Turenzas are as bad as Potenzas?

Potenzas that I have is just scary. If it just slight amount of moinsture, you sliding everywhere with them.

I thought Turenzas were better than Potenzas, I guess not.

if you dont mind spending money....get the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

when you drive in the rain/moist/snow ...you'll see that the money was worth spending. I have them right now, its my 2nd set, everytime i drive in the rain, you can see the smile I have on my face. They are just amazing in water.

Here is another happy customer

I dont see the problem you guys have with your potenzas. I've driven 2 times in the rain since I got my car a few weeks ago.

before in a light rain and then this morning in damn near WHITE SQUALL. The rain was so thick this morning that the highway was a river. I was able to stay around 75-80 mph most of the way except in the heaviest of rain where I slowed down because of visibility concerns. The car felt stable and surefooted both times.

Maxnut,
I'm looking at them at the Tire Rack. They are $197 each for 225/50/17. I'm on the verge of buying them for my '02 SE.

I was discussing tires this morning with someone here at work seeing as he's into sports cars. He is using the same tires on his 911 Carrera, and BMW Roadster M, and highly recommends them.

a) Do you want all-season tires? If so, the concensus seems to be the Pilot A/S, although my experience with them wasn't as good as some others' here

b) Will you go with separate summer/winter tires? If so, I can highly recommend the Yokohama ES100's for summer. They're the best rain tire I've ever owned, by far (but completely useless in snow).
