BMW M5 trunk Lip on a Gen 4 Maxima

Anyone try this, or install another lip on the trunk? I have a GLE and want spoiler of some sort. Everyone has the OEM one and i want to be different.

Ive measured the M3 lip against the trunk and its approximately 2.5 inches short on both sides.

Any advice appreciated.

i love the way the bmw trunk spoiler seems to come out of the edge of the trunk, i want one too. but you have to be careful about the angle that it attaches to the trunk, because the bmw trunk could more pointed than our trunk at the edge and when you try to put their spoiler on our car there could be a gap. hope that was clear, its hard to explain what i am thinking about

Urethane... i fitted an M3 lip last weekend and it was a little too short. Im wondering if the M5 would fit better.

It was a minor improvement, but it really made a difference.

so did the M3 fit flush with our lid? so being too short on the sides the only thing that was wrong? if you can get a picture that would be great to get an idea of what needs to be done.

i don't think it looks good on the 4th gen. around here most of the guys are putting the M5 lip on the G35 & audi.

i would love the rear window spoiler from the M5.

I just bought a m5 spoiler. Ill see how hard it is to get it to fit. the length is about 47.5" long but I mught have to do something to get the curvature to be perfect. its made of PU so it should be easier to work with.

I dont have pix on a max yet because I havent started on it but heres one on the m5

the bimmers trunk is flatter than ours so Im gonna probably have to re mold it to fit. hopefully the Polyurethane will flex enough with the help of a heat gun an patience.

Maybe if there's enough interest, maybe someone like Ionic or whoever would build these. And it would fit perfectly. Or maybe people want M5 cuz of the brag-value...(not that THAT means anything...)

Ive talked to Ionicmax once about custom molding me a Q45 stillen spoiler and what he said was that if I can provide him one to mold off of he will do it. never discussed how much that would cost though but its all possible.

My molder in SoCal can mold it in fiberglass. The first prototype is free, assuming more can be sold. If you guys trust Ionic more then go with him cuz he's great at this stuff. I'll try to get some custom fiberglass stuff out soon so everyone can see the quality of my molder. I'm also looking into other alternatives for spoilers as well.

thats the same one I bought but from a different seller thats in socal rather than overseas. BTW if you read carefully in that link, the seller stated somewhere that theres a maxima application but who knows. well find out if theres any fittment issues asap as I recieve mine. so far the only thing that seems to be a problem is that the max has more downward curve on the sides of the lid rather than a more flatter trunk of the m5.
