I have the opportunity to purchase a pair of headlights that came off a 2000 Maxima. They have the HID's included and my question is how do I get the HID's to work in my 2000? Will they bolt in? What will it take to get them lit?

 

Are you just going to use the bulb & ballast from the 2K3 for you 00? Or are you also changing the whole housing? If you change the whole housing then it's a direct swap. You'll just have to redo the wiring. Which should take like 15min a side or so. The 2K3 bulbs are D2R and 00's are H4.. I know you can retrofit them. I think if you shave down the D2R bottom you can fit it in the 00 H4 housing..

 

I assume you mean that the lights are coming off a 2003 Maxima? Yes, they will fit 2000 and 2001 models. Unfortunately, it's the 2K and 2K1 owners who provide the market for the HID lights that are so frequently stolen from the 2K2 and 2K3 models. If you have a conscience, make sure you are not buying stolen parts (not to mention that dealing in stolen property is a very serious crime).

 

I am not one to buy stolen parts, they're comming from a local junk yard. Which is irrelevant to my question, which is I want to have the HID bulbs in my 2k I am just unsure of how the wiring will work to get the HID's to light any suggestions?
