auto tran prob?

OK this is what happened.....went to track on friday, and car seemed a little funny on first pass,(and also did very poorly) so i went home...On the way home the car seemed to jump in and out of overdrive when i let off the gas, sometimes going into neutral. Got back to my buddy's house and disconnected the battery for an hour, thinking it could be electronically related. Well when i hooked back up, it seemed fine. Drove all day Saturday and Sunday with no problems.(it was 90 both days) Wife went to drive this morning, and she put it into gear, and she said it felt sluggish...she made it to the store and when she came out, it drove fine...I called my mechanic buddy to see if he could look at it tonite at his house, and i went to go, and it acted the same way, but stalled on me 4 times when i went to go into drive...Neutral and park the car ran fine. After the 4th time of stalling, I put it into drive and it ran fine, only after i let it run for a minute...ran fine all the way to my buddy's house(bout 30 mins. away) Have no clue what is going on!!! Does anybody?????
Please help,
Thanks

welcome to the world of the mysterious automatic transmission. sorry i dont have any technical info, after i did my own vb install my car now sits like its in neutral whenever i come to a complete stop and 1st wont engage until 1.5k rpms.

all i can say is make sure whoever works on it is familiar with how automatics work. and ive heard to avoid tranny shops. i took mine to the guys i use when i need something fixed quick, and they have a certified tranny tech(whatever that means), and he is still having problems trouble shooting my problem.

good luck
