Removing Center Console

I want to put a laptop drive in my center console pocket. The only way to get the wires in there is to drill a hole through the bottom. After taking the seats out is there anything i should know about taking the center console out? Are there any tutorials on how to do it? Ive heard there is an airbag sensor and to watch out for that but i didnt find out exactly where it was.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also i have searched.

What do you define as the "center console"?

Airbag sensor is exactly where you are planning to drill your hole. I would HIGHLY not recommend you try and put a laptop drive in there, as the space isn't big enough anyways. There is a screw on each side of the console when you move both front seats all the way forward you will see it on the bottom right for driver side and bottom left for passenger side when looking at the center console through the rear doors.

A laptop dvd drive will fit in there. Ive already got the drive and checked for that. The size in the pocket is not really an issue. Youre saying the sensor takes the whole bottom of the pocket?

I define the center console. As the armrest, cups, etc all the way up to the shifter. Ive already removed the passenger seat to see how much space is down there. There is plenty of space for a computer underneath there.

Im gonna run the wire through the precut holes in the carpet for the foot
vents. Once under the carpet ill run it into the center console area and then have to run it under the console pocket and up into it. Where exactly is the sensor? On the driver side, passenger side? Once i remove all these screws (i see where they are cause the whole passenger seat is out) will it just kinda pop out after a little bit of pulling?

To remove center console:

Pop out shifter trim. Remove shifter trim if possible.
Remove two screws underneath shifter trim.
Remove screw from inside the large pocket at your armrest (at the bottom)
Pull seats all the way forward and remove the two screws on the sides of the console. You do not need to remove the smaller headed screws.

Once you get that part out, you will be able to do whatever you damn well want with it as far as running wires goes.

I took it out. Phatman i see what you were talking about but there is some space in the front of the pocket where you can drill a hole. Right next the existing hole for the screw. The sensor doesnt start for an inch or two behind that screw hole.

Yes Andy there is an airbag device down there, it is a square metal box that says something about it being an airbag sensor and something about not touching it, lol.
