Got Inspection done... They don't like front tint

Sorry, just have to vent a little. Took 2 hours to get a state inspection done and the guy comes in at the end and goes "here this is for you" (hands me a glass scraper) "you gotta take off your front tint" so i had no choice but to do so, right then and there. The guy proceeds to start telling me all about is mid 90's toyota corolla that he raced, and supposedly beat, against a Supra TT... soooo annoying. Lot of good it did too makin me take off the tint, considering i stopped at the auto store on my way back to work and picked up a new roll of tint, and now my Max is sittin in the garage with some fresh, better tint on his front windows. But man that guy kept goin on and on and on about his friggin corolla... i still put down more hp stock than him and all his mods too. ah the VQ

I thought that 35% was legal all around.Or unless you have a darker tint in front?

Here in Jersey, the car will fail inspection if you have the front windows tinted. On my old car, I went to inspection one year with the windows rolled down and got busted when the person doing the inspection rolled up the windows (I guess they thought it was kinda odd to see someone with their windows down in 40 degree weather ) The following year I went, I did the samething. That time they didn't roll the windows up. I guess it I got luckly that time around

Oklahoma did away with state inspections 2 or 3 years ago. Don't know if that's good or bad, kind of makes me nervous when I'm driving next to a POS

State safety inspection... states are allowed to have different laws about tint... NH just happens to suck a** with what they allow (or don't, as the case may be)

yep, every year they check lights, horn, brakes, exhaust (tubing and equipment, like cats... we don't have emissions testing), and other stuff like tint, rust (supposedly illegal to have a rust hole in your car).

it sucks, but it's also good I guess.

Seriously how the hell do you mod a car there, you cant do **** w/o them b!tching about it. So you cant even have an exhaust or wtf that really sucks. We have emissions here but new cars dont need to worry about it for 5 yrs. So I dont have to worry about it til 2006, unless you live in flagstaff then you can register cars and drive them STREET LEGAL like the one on my homepage page 3. Not that is some scary ****

yep, keep the cat on and you should be fine. But there are states (Mass is one, I think) where it's illegal to modify the exhaust from factory AT ALL. People do it all the time, but I believe it's illegal so if you p*ss off the cop and have a modded exhaust, it's another $200 (IIRC).

BLKMAX005SPD, I have to disagree with you about one thing, though... I am extremely happy the cops are ticketing for loud mufflers. They're ticketing cars, harleys, trucks, people who modified the exhaust, have a hole in the exhaust, new cars, sh*tboxes... ANYTHING that's loud.

I even called the cops and told them where to sit and what time. This kid in a BMW drives by my house every night at 2am and has an exhaust that wakes me up and I sleep with an A/C right next to my head! I laughed out loud when I saw the blues light up at 2am

I really dont blame you that would get soooo anoying. What really gets anoying is idiots who turn their stereo up all the way and cruise by the neighborhood after 11pm, with the subs goin its just common sense that your gonna wake alot of people up and it gets on my nerves when they cruise by at like 2-3 bumpin

Now in Jersey any car purchased model 2001 and up - u have a 4 year
window before your first inspection- I go to a garage anyway though and pay the money-they only care about emmisions

Haha, beats me, but people do it enough--Hanover, PA (a few miles away from me) might as well be a 24/7 auto show 'cause there are ricers all OVER the place. Hell at night you always see caravans of ricers driving along Eisenhower Dr.
I just grin when I blow past them in 3rd gear in my VQ30DE ;-)
