Nismo Radiator cap... what are the benefits?

Im considering getting the Nismo 1.3kg/cm2 Radiator cap. Which operates at about 18.5psi. Will this make much of a difference over stock? How does this help cool better? On a stock radiator for that matter? Could anyone explain in detail?

I know it raises boiling pt of the coolant and flows with more psi. Is this better for the stock cooling system?

any feedback will greatly appreciated.

Do you really want to pay $30 for a radiator cap?

i just recently dyoned my radiator cap alone then with the car added, and both results showed ~3hp loss...i wouldn't get it. i'd rather get the oil cap. i heard it add roughly 2.3pi of torque to the pistons.

** Cosmetics
** Keeps engine cooler more pressure = cooler
** Boosted engines need it

Car Overheating?

The radiator cap is often overlooked in common engine overheating problems. It is designed to add pressure to the cooling system and increase the boiling point like grandma's pressure cooker. A faulty radiator cap can cause your car to boil-over at a lower temperature, but is an easy and inexpensive D-I-Y repair. -stant.com
