Is it possible to change the red needles to a blue or different color by just changing the light. Or is it more difficult then that.

It's more difficult to do, but it can be done, sorta. The needles themselves are red. The light bulb that lights it up is white. So the color is in the needle itself. Some people have been able to remove the needles and color them blue with a sharpie, but they've had mixed results. As far as I know, there aren't any aftermarket needles specifically designed for the Maxima, but there are needles that can be used. I don't have a link to the web sites that have them, but Import Intelligence advertised them once. The company isn't good when it comes to customer service, but the product line shows you what is possible.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was wondering because I just did the sharpie mod with the key light. Is it possible to color the light on the gear shift(PRNDL) and the little light that shines from under the climate control onto the gear shift.

I'm not sure about the PRNDL light, but I think those are colored by the template, not the light.

As for the climate control light, you can color that one.

actually, last i heard, it's almost impossible to take those needles off. for altimat's, just got hop over the zero RPM stopper and as it hangs vertically, it pops out. but for maxima's, i dont' believe anyone's figured it out yet. if you have though, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I always wondered how hard it would be to make some new lexan needles, or take them from another car.

Anyone figured out how to take the needles off? If someone tell sme how, I might try and make new ones.

If you made new needles, they would have to be the exact same weight as ur current needles, or ur gauges would be off...

Here is the link for the How-To take your needles off and calibrate them. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....INDIGLO+NEEDLE
Check out Mr.Max420 his gauges are exactly what I want. I don't think he's got the pic on his homepage but you can find it here http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=228519
He said his needles are from a 4th gen. I might call around to some junk yards and see if I can find some.
If anyone can find some needles please post.
