i just want to know how those with VG and the warpspeed y-pipe like it. cause i'm deciding if i should get one or not

 

Get it! I love mine and it is well worth the cheap price.

well in this subjext.. those with the y pipe is it really a huge difference in the ve? i am thinking about getting the y pipe. and then adding a greddy cat back

 

If your VE is running well, this is one of the better mods to do. Althought to really get the most from the y-pipe you should also open up the intake with a CAI or cone filter and finish off the exhaust with a cat back and hi-flow cat.

But just adding the y-pipe will help. For $200 is was well worth the money.

 

should i get a resonator in for my b pipe put in or not.. i ordered with out, but lots of my friends tell me i should.

 

Will a regular mechanic install the Y-Pipe or does it need to be brought to a muffler shop? I definitely don't wanna do it myself because I read of so many problems here including broken bolt studs

 

I installed an aluminized mandrel-bent warpspeed performance Y-pipe in my '89 max GXE. Good quality unit, but I don't think it's any better than the stock piece. It came with replacement gaskets, but didn't come with all new mounting hardware (so some nuts & bolts, etc had to be re-used.)

It rattled during hard acceleration on my suspension techniques front swaybar. I finally fixed the rattle by fabricating about 1/4" spacers, installed underneath the swaybar body mounts.

Although the Y-pipe helped torque & hp at certain RPMs, it hurt it at others. I think this is because it does away with the equal-length runner configuration of the stock Y-pipe, and takes a "path of least resistance" approach.

Maybe the Y-pipe makes more of an improvement on one of the multi-valve '92-'93 SE max motors; mine is the 2-valve per cylinder motor. (Sorry, can't remeber which is the VE and which is VG).

It might also help more if a free-flow cat-back exhaust system were installed; mine is some sort of "midas special". When I get an excuse to replace it, I will probably get warpspeed's (B-pipe). They seem like good folks with good products, and I had a good experience doing business with them.
