What kinda Radar Detectors are you using

I am getting a new Radar Decector and was wondering what you guys were using and what you would reccomend? Also have you ever been busted while using your current one? Thanks

Bel 855Sti. have not been busted with this one but have been with an old whistler. hard to blame the radar when you get hit with instant on though.

Oh you know it!!

That's why I don't even bother with one down here...to many instant on's and laser speed traps. That and patrol cars (marked and unmarked) running with traffic who just need to watch you pass them to know you are speeding...no radar needed (and yes, they can hide pretty well to the side of semi's, etc. so don't flame about 'Didn't you open your eyes!!').

just be glad your area has not passed legislation to put up speed cameras. ours in charlotte should be up in the next few months and will not be like Hawaii where there was no toleration for going above the limit. they wont say where they setting it at but this is what you get when the city needs to collect more money.

Passport 8500. Awesome detector, but my best defense is still my eyes. They're just too sneaky these days.

Valentine 1 3 1/2 years and counting with no speeding tickets with it, and I've logged about 60,000 miles with it so far for mileage reference... Will never buy a different brand. Only detector that shows you where the cops are.

My car came with a original equipment radar detector package. It includes a speedometer, a rear view mirror and a pair of light-weight shoes.

V1 here since 1998.

V1 wont pay tickets IF you get them. Been pulled over twice with it. Both times cause my car was loaded down with passengers and luggage, middle of the day, and I have 0% tint. Also, the fact that I was going to orlando from miami didnt help. The cop thought I was carryin drugs. But, once he approached the car and saw that it was full of people, he let me go with a lecture.

Gives plenty of warning for radar...but my eyes are the best defense for laser.

Valentine 1 - By far the best radar detector I have ever owned. I drive 30k per year and have yet to be caught using the V1.
