JWT ECU is finally on its way! track time!

So I called to cancel my order, b/c I've been waiting 3 months and I was determined to get my money back ($1100). The secretary has Brain Catts call me (he's on vacation ) and gives me the long b.s. story blah blah blah JWT makes great stuff but their slow as Sheit blah blah blah. I told him I was gonna speak badly about Cattman customer service and dealing with their ECU supplier. But I guess I wont, b/c they're sending the ECU overnight mail , so it should arrive today or tomorrow.

he gave me some b.s. story that my ecu was put off to the side and just left there. I seriously just wanted my money back, but you know how some business people can be, they'll sqeeze a diamond out of a rock. They didnt want the negative publicity either.

Brian Catts :squeezeballs: :squeezeballs:

O'well, I dont know which day the ecu will arrive exactly. But I'll be heading over to www.limotorsportspark.com if any of you third gens want to join, I'll keep you posted. I'm gonna install the ecu at the track and get real time before and after numbers.

Great Eric. You will LOVE it. It really gets rid of the low end slugginess that VEs tend to have if they don't advance the timing. Just for ref: I put mine in w/ the advanced timing in the winter. Holy crap it was fast! But as the weather heated up + we only get 91 gas here, it started pinging. I did the decarbonizing process in an attempt to slightly lower the cr and get rid of the carbon that "might" be causing the ping but it still pinged. I returned the timing to normal and all is well. But it doesn't have that same jump. But it's still a great mod. Nothing like reving/pulling into the new redline. I swear you won't believe how high it will rev now.

Cool, thats makes me happier that I went ahead with it.

Jeff have you tested your KS, to see if its working properly. I'm guessing that you have, since you replaced the engine.

Why was the price so high? Or is it just over a grand because you have to send your core in for the refund?

Nope. I never tested it. This engine is what came with my car when I bought it from Matt York. Owner of the "other" board.

Yup $500 core charge. The price does'nt vary accross the internet.

Hey Jeff, its real easy to check the KS. All you have to do is check the resistance from the subharness to ground. 1/2 meg-ohm ==>good, 5 meg-ohm (or anything above 1/2) ==> bad.

Damn Izzy, glad to hear it was just an injector (cough... like I said)

WHOA HOA, It arrived just today!!!!!!!

Those frikken idiots put the wrong sticker on the ECU, it says SOHC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

But the original OEM codes on the ECU looks like DOHC, so I think I'm good.

It looks like both saturday and Sunday the track has T&T, so it looks like the weather will play the important role!

Chris, bechmarked how? by dynoing? I don't wanna dish out the money for that. Thats why I'm going to do a before and after at the track, I'll be installing the ecu right there! I'm guessing two tenths off the 1/4 mile, but I'd really like to see 4 tenths

Well it looks like the weather will be good both sat and sun. so I'm gonna aim for sat. Time trials start at 1:00, so lets meet there at 1:00 sharp!

So this is an all points bulliten for Tri-state 3rd gens Roll out!!
