Blower motor resistor

I've read there is a resistor on the blower motor that allows all 4 speeds to be selected. My blower only runs on 1 speed at the moment. Can anyone tell me where (exactly) to look for this defective piece (in the car), or.....if I've remembered incorrectly, point me in the right direction for a fix? Thanks.

Should be in the vicinity of the back side of your glove box, if I'm not mistaken.... But don't quote me.

Looked there - didn't see anything? My car has the electronic climate control, and I'm wondering if that unit actually controls the blower speed? Meaning...., whatever is blown, is blown within my climate control unit...

That's a good question. I've got the manual controls, so maybe they're controlled differently.

max4me (i think that's his name i'll double check) replaced mine, it's located behind the glovebox, before the blower fan, I have the same digital climate controls.

I'm assuming I'll have to remove the entire glovebox to gain access then? Meaning..., I can't reach it from under the dash? IS that correct?

I think the problem is probably the resistor like you mentioned, have you looked at the online chiltons manual in the FAQ. I'm pretty sure you could find it in that manual

as for removing the glovebox, that's very easy and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, just open the glovebox and remove all teh screws around the outside and it'll come out (you'll have to twist out the light too)
