lately i have been noticing that a) my car is losing power and b) my highway mileage is improving. if the knock sensor is going south, could it actually be upping my gas mileage by robbing the engine of power?

and just so i'm clear, the vtc's adjust valve timing but the ks adjusts ignition timing, right?
