Newbie question from moldy oldy

What exactly is the MEVI (what does it stand for?)?

And how do you know a Max is Cali-spec?

Yes, I did search!

Yes, I did search!
It stands for Middle Eastern Variable Intake, and its a variable intake which gives 4th gen maxima's awesome top end, which they lack stock... To put it bluntly, its like vtec for a maxima. :P

you can find out if your maxima is a cali spec by decoding the VIN number by using the method in the faq

middle eastern variable Intake??? so a maxima variable intake frommiddle eastern maximas?

Even though it gives more top end power, some lower end power is lost. It's more noticable in a 5 sp.

Well that's just plain stoopid!
Why should everything thing be in the 4th gen forum? I mean who cares about 4th gen?

I read the friggin' stickies (dammit!), which helped quite a bit.
