Interior Swap

How hard would it be to convert a tan interior with cloth seats to a full black interior with leather seats? I was wondering if anyone knows a link to a site that sells replacement interior parts so it could make this easier. (ex. rear deck carpeting for 91 max in black and stuff like that)

I have done the swap and so have several others. Its not hard but time consuming. The best thing to do is get a parts car that has black interior because there are a lot of things you need.

Here is a quick list.

dash along with the glove box lid and the center radio trim, door panels, headliner, door pillar pieces, seat belts, carpet, steering wheel and trim behind the wheel, the plastic below the gauge cluster (where your mirror controls are), console and lid, rear deck, and of course the seats. I may have missed something but you get the idea.

Life will be much easier if you have a whole car to get the parts from. You can recover the rear shelf and the headliner and buy new carpet but the rest of the stuff needs to be swapped. I know shock11 (or something like that sorry I cant remember) is painting his door panels or some parts of his interior. I have used the vynal paint before and it works fairly well but would rather replace the parts if you can.

Definetely try and find a parts car first. If you can get one under 500 or even a grand, you should be able to break even parting it out

for new ones check atd1.com or leatherseats.com. They both sell the exact same seat kits (Katzkin) and it just depends on the price. I know they were in a price war when I got mine so I got them from ATD1.com for 565 shipped with the install kit. It took me a little while to get the hang of installing them but once I did then I knocked them out pretty fast.

I was able to swap out all my seats and carpet(thanks to Paul). The hardest part is finding the stuff you need. Once you get them, there are instructions on the net how to install if you need instructions.
