CustomMaxima's 97-99 Red/Clear Tails are installed

Didn't take long and cleaned up the look of my Concord Mist by getting rid of that amber crap from Nissan. The tails included everything necessary to do the install.

Now I really got to get some wheels and install the rest of my mods.

Flows very nicely Deezo. And yes, it's time for those hubs to meet their maker.

IMO you should shave the "GXE" and maybe everything else for that matter. It looks soo clean with those perfectly matching tails, no emblems would make it even better I think.

I like the emblems. IMO debadging makes the car look too plain. Plus the GXE represents the powa of the GXE.

Sterling Mist = Silver Color, hence the "Sterling" (like sterling silver)

Concord Mist = Purplish Color. In fact, Deezo's favorite color is purple with pink dots.

The Mist? I guess adds sort of a "metallic" edge to the paint.

I just received my red/clear tails the other day and installed them, and I think they look great, except for one thing - I am a bit of a perfectionist and I don't think that the red part of the outers matches the inners, only when lights are on. It looks to me that the outers are just a little dimmer than the inners. Any one else with the new and improved red/clears notice this? I took some pics, but I don't think the camera conveys too well what I think, you can see the difference more in person...

I noticed it a bit but it doesn't bother me. There are a couple of other things but it's not anything crazy.

Dayle: Your car looks very sharp. The light difference is not noticeable, and WON'T be to the average eye. It matches 99% so don't even worry about it. Only upon very close inspection do you see that it's MINUTELY off, and even then who cares? from 5 feet away it looks perfect. Quit worryin'

upon a second look, I don't even notice any difference. Everything is perfect dayle, no need to worry.

The red color around the top and bottom edges are darker than th stock assembly and insulation around the top is thick enough to fill the spaces correctly.

And Deezo will be like, "I got em from CustomMaxima bro! Welp, Seeya later!". Then he floors it and is whisped away into the moonlight by his gXe PoWaH.

Did any of u guys have a slight fitment issue. On mine there is a slight gap around the taillights and the car. Like the rubber piece that goes around the tail isn't big enough to make contact with the car. Anybody have this issue as well who bought these red/clear tails?

Yeah and I'm going to try and fix it when I get a chance. I'll probably cut off what's there and replace it with som insulation with a better fit.

Why are some of you guys having fittment issues? Is it because Custom Maxima isn't using Nissan tails or what?

I wouldn't really call it a fitment issue. It's just not OEM look but with some fine tuning they will look perfecto.
