How can i improve these bad times?
How can i improve these bad times?
I ran my max at houston raceway park a while back, it was really hot and humid as usual here, probably over 90 degrees. Anyways, here was my best run.
60` 2.471
330 6.878
1/8 10.441
mph 69.73
1000 13.493
1/4 16.087
mph 86.44
I torque breaked to around 2000, and manually shifted at redline. I couldn't get any traction on my worn down continental tourings. I also had spare and jack taken out. Are those times below par? And how much do you think they would improve with performance tires and a colder temp?

New tires would help out alot.It all depends on how much you burn on the tack-off now and how much less after. But if you are burning them bad then maybe as much as 1/2 a sec. What kinda mods do you have done to your car?

if you can get the 60' down to 2.2's or 2.3's it should help out your ET a lot. also...along with you mods, a ypipe would do a lot of good and bring down your times as well.
this was probably your first time, so with just more experience and getting the hang of it...you'll get better and better at it
Those honestly aren't bad times considering the hot/humid conditions. There is a very big difference in performance between driving into work in the morning at 70F and lower humidity and the afternoon which has been 90F+ and 80-90% humidity. It doesn't have nearly the pep in the afternoon.
Other thing was the launch. 2.471s 60' is not the greatest. Every tenth you can improve your launch by will result in about a two-tenths improvement in your 1/4 mile ET. So if you could have pulled a 2.3-2.4 60' time you might have been able to do about a 15.6-15.8. Throw a better launch in and lower temps and you could be able to get some low-15 times.
