Ok, I am bringing my car back to the turbo fabricator/installer on friday so that they can tune the car, and turn up the boost. My tranny will finished being bulletproofed on fri. My axles are being built and installed by fri. So, now the question is what is holding me back from getting the car tuned to 10psi of boost. I am running a t04b turbo and have ansafc2 for tuning. Will i be maxing my injectors out at 10 psi? Currently i have an MSD external Fuel pump in the car but will be going to a walbro soon.

 

what FMU are you running? if it is a 8:1.....you will hit ~100psi of fuel at 10psi of boost. since you have a 4th gen, it will be wise to look into larger injectors to supply more fuel. I would get a adjustable FMU too, the Cartech one goes from 1.5:1 to 10:1.

 

He turbo'd the 3rd Gen... So can't he use the 300zx injectors?

 

nope i turboed my 4th gen. I have an 8:1 fmu

 

if you bring her up to 10psi...then you will expect to see a high fuel pressure from ~4000rpm to red line. IIRC, stcok injectors lock up at 110psi of fuel. I would get an adjustable FMU to lower the fuel p. a little. But even though you adjust the fuel pressure, you are still dealing with low injector flow rate.


how much boost are you running right now? IIRC, 6psi of turbo boost is pretty fun already. just turn it up a little and see how the car's doing. you should be able to know how much boost your car can handle. dyno it and see what AFR you are getting @ 10psi. if you are still running rich with stock injectors, then you should be fine.

 

so it looks like i can only go to 8 on stock injectors and be safe. Hey Mardi, so when are you getting rid of your 370cc injectors? :P

 

I saw your car at the shop where the kit is being installed. The kit looks good. I have a Red SEL. PFI kit is being in instaled. If you are in New York after it is done, we should hook up. TWO RED TURBOED SEL"S (NICE.....)
