2.50 to 2.55. Those kind of 60's will give you about a 16.4 to 16.50 at 85 or 86 mph. That is my experience with my stock VE Auto.

Now, I'm getting high 2.2s with my 14.8 @ 92mph in NC. In Vegas, I get very high 2.3s with my mid 15's. I NEVER have traction problems except for this crappy track in Fontana, California. Even there, I get the 60s I should be getting with the altitude in mind.

If you want to know anything else about a VE Auto at the track, I know.

ok i gota question. I have intake, UDP, Y-pipe, Strait pipe and 2 1/4 cat back. I run 2.7 to 2.8 60's with 16.3 @ around 87mph. ive read about the so called " heat soak " i think i have it. Ive changed the KS, O2 sensor and ignition coils. Still no change. so if theres anything else i can do or check just let me know. one more strange thing. before i changed all those parts i tried the KS bypass with the resistor. it did not work. i tried it again a month later for kicks and it worked. my low end was so much better. but then the next day it was back to normal and has been ever since, even with changing out the KS and all those. So im very confused. I know ya prolly cant tell whats wrong cause your not drivin it but any help would be most appreciated. thank you and i look up to you. haha, your times are awesome

Haha, thanks I'm flattered. But if you seriously have gotten a 2.7 60' and STILL got a 16.3 @ 87mph.... there is something wrong. I KNOW you are NOT having traction problems. That's easy to figure out. So, something is really hurting you the first few feet. It's like to step on the gas half way and then 2 seconds later, you go WOT. I can't explain that.

If heat soak was such a problem, then your 60' would suffer along with your trap speeds. According to your mods, you probably have a Maxima capable of running 15.50's with advanced timing. Those 60's are really wierd. Are you sure you're stepping on it all the way off the line? Are you doing a slight torque brake so you won't have to flash stall off of idle?

Can you post your entire time slips? I will be able to tell a lot more. What is your best 60' ever? And please post that time slip.

As for the heat soak, it's HOT outside. My motor gets it in this Vegas heat. I absolutely LOVE the winter in NC, my car was SO powerful. Even on low end. But no more in this caca Vegas altitude and heat. Sorry, I'm sad that I won't be beating my record NA. My best time in Vegas is 15.54 is 55 degree weather. Last weekend, while winning my 3rd bracket race event in Vegas, I ran an average of 16.61. Don't make fun of me, it's hot outside. Atleast I ran consistant enough to win.

*Edit* Oh yeah, do you have AIM or any IM service?

You have a mid 15 sec car now, however your 60' is killing it . Are you going a burnout in the water box, if don't do it anymore and just drive around it? Also are you manually upshifting or do you let the car shift itself? Either you are spinning the tires alot or your car is bogging really bad off the line. If your car is bogging during the launch try cleaning the TB and checking your base ignition timing.

also 2 consider is tires...definately sumthin is wrong, but goin from crapo 2 good tires my 60' dropped .1 and i got a 2.3 and consistent 2.4

not sure what state and how high the temps/elevation/etc r where u r, but heat really kills our cars...ive had over 1/2 sec difference just b/c of heat....maybe u should relax and not race till cold weather comes again like me

Or continue racing in the summer to fine tune your bracket racing skills.

i dont do a burnout and some times i manually shift, but not always.that run i did though. i cleaned and ported my TB like a month ago so thats ok and when its at stock timing, doesnt seem to do much im not spinnin the tires, it just bogs really bad. i tried doin a torque brake launch tonight and it jumped really good but half a second later it just felt like nothing was there. this car is very confusing to me. any other things i should check on the car to see if they may be causing the problem???? thanks for the help
