autozone sells 3A Racing Mufflers

autozone sells universal 3A Racing Mufflers with a carbon fiber look i presume, the price is $109.00, is this a good price? does anyone have this muffler on their car with everything stock? how does it sound, how deep, and how does it sound at idle and 2-3k rpm...how does it compare to the stock and flowmaster muffler...hmmm....in the future should i get this 3A muffler or flowmaster, i just dont like how this muffler looks...not my style. and can you please post sound clips of how this muffler sounds, thanks guys. by the way im a daily driver, no racing of what-so-ever, will it be too loud for a daily driver because i dont want it to get so annoying in the cabin

any straight through muffler is going to be loud. The loud part isnt so bad but the droneing that you get is horrible. You cant carry on a conversation in the car.

i had a 3a racing muffler on my old celica and it changed the tone. the mufflers are crap though, get one off of ebay. saves u money. i just bought a new APEX'I N1 muffler for $70+shipping. then got a baffle from a local shop for $3. advice on exhaust, dont get any bigger than 2.5" piping on a catback.witha str8 through muffler and 2.75", i lost HP and at low rpm's my car sounded like a truck, plus my gas mileage went to crap.

I got a magnaflow... prior to upgrading the cat back piping (B pipe) to a bigger pipe, the drone wasn't very noticable. It was only noticable when accelerating at around 2500 - 3000 rpm.

After upgrading it, there is a bigger drone at around 2000rpm - 3500 rpm. I'm not a racer or anything. The drone helps me to control my acceleration. well it does! (tightass mode = keep it at low rpm / race me = anything higher than tight as mode )

the 3A racing mufflers do suck by the way, they have a 1 or 3 year warranty and the magnaflows come with a lifetime one.

rice is when you mod your car and it doesn't do anything for performance (ie undercar neons)...

Mod is when you do something for your car and it gives it a little bit more performance...

Please don't get those two meanings mixed up

And what part of Carbon Fiber muffler is not Rice? They are not mufflers made of CF. They are usually either coated with CF or just their tips are? To me that's the definition of Rice.

Now if they were completely made out of CF, and weighed a mere 2 lbs, THAT would be a mod.

no, rice is what i eat most of the time during dinner with my family. ANY thing done to a car that isn't factory is customization/modding.

yeah but a mufler like that ist a mod it is rice and dont give me that crap about it adding hp cause 1 hp dont count. me and my friends all laugh at the silly hondas and there fart cans. i dont see the real perpose of adding a muffler to stock exhaust other than to rice up a car why not spend that money on intake, y pipe or udp but like stated before your money your car
