rims and tire sizes

I am going to order 17 X 7.5 Moda R6 rims for my 93 Maxima SE and I want to know what the widest tires I can get are. I plan on installing Intrax springs soon too if that makes any difference. Tire rack is telling me that 225/45/17 are what i need but can I go any wider? Thanks in advance, Zach

wider? sure. I've got a friend with 275s on his Max... they look kinda funky, but they fit.

ok again it depends on the offset of the wheel. Why is it that people cant realize that by now.

You will have no problems with the 225/45 tire because I have that exact set up (wheel and tire). The offset of the rims are perfect. You may can even get away with 235/45 which is closser to the actual tire height of the factory wheel. It looks like it would clear no problem but I havent tried it to give a definate.

good point about offset. i was keen on that but i forgot to mention it. offset is a sort of deal-breaker or deal-maker. you want a 30-40mm range for the maxima.

bolt circle must be 114.3. dead-on or no deal.
