aux. fuel pump question?

ok i think i might have found my problem, my aux. pump is not kicking on when i turn the key. when i do turn the key i feel a small vibration when touching the pump but it only last about a sec. if the aux. pump is not hooked up right will it cause the problems that i am having(stalling, bad idle after reving, won't rev past 3500rpms)? god i hope so,should i beable to feel the pump when its on? what about hearing it? (i currently don't hear anything coming from the fuel pump) i would like to thank you guys who helped me so far as i'am still new to the whole sc thing

The aux fuel pump is only activated when the manifold pressure goes positive, so it is normal for it to be not running during nonboosted operation. It is controlled by the Hobbs switch. Some people have had a problem with the aux fuel pump blocking flow and creating a fuel starvation problem, so this might be the source of your problem, too.

There is a modification you can do to the Hobbs switch so that the aux fuel pump is always on. I'm not familiar with the modification since I use an upgraded in-tank fuel pump and never installed the Hobbs switch and aux fuel pump. Do a search on Hobbs and you'll eventually find a write-up.

unless you tap into the wrong hose or the wrong direction. my pump was off for a long time and the car is still running. I would suggest to do the hobb switch mod to have the pump on all the time.
