Info on the new Q45 has been around for at least a year now. I think the new Q45 is okay, but it's not breakthrough like it needs to be to compete with Lexus. Besides, the front end styling looks super cheap. Not classy at all. Looks more like a Mercury Sable than a Lexus. At least Infiniti should have put in some fogs instead of those empty holes in the grille. Cheap cheap cheap...

 

I didn't think that the pictures made the car look that good, but from what I've heard anyone who disliked the car in the pictures absolutely loved the car in person and said that Infiniti hit the nail right on the head with this car...but only time will tell.

I don't know what your looking at but that car is amazing.

 

well, eric just said that the front looked cheap, and that it wasn't too innovative, and he's right. But Max I am is also right. I wasn't too impressed with pics of the car but I saw it at last years ny auto show and the car is drop dead gorgeous. It WILL be a hit.

Ugly headlights

Like CKNY said, I never said the car sucked. I said the front end looked cheap, like a Mercury Sable. Can you honestly say the front end of the Q45 looks as classy as an LS430 or S500? I can't. The headlights are okay, but no external fogs and a cheapo bumper just doesn't look right on Nissan's flagship sedan.

Other than that...the Q is competitive with the LS430, it's main competitor. I don't think it will be a S500 or 740i killer, but it's not meant to be. But I think when it all comes down to it, the LS430 will still be the more luxurious car (with the $12,000 option package).

As for the wheels, I've never cared for the chrome wheels pictured on the Q45 ad. I hope they come out with normal alloy wheels. I believe recent spy pics show the Q45 with the same 17" rims as the 2k-2001 Maxima.

 

the new Q is cool, but there is no way I would ever spend that much on anything except a german car... I just couldn't do it (except for a skyline possibly). That car is just about done when you buy it.. half the fun for me and others around here is making something better and cooler than anything you can just buy from a dealer.

 

for all u people hatin on the looks.. i used to be like that. then i saw the **** in person, and sucker is GORGEOUS. the bulges and curves just wont show in photos. and it makes the ls430 look like a camry that needs to go to jenny craig. also check the specs on it, and for the price it's not exactly a bad deal when u compare to it's competetors.

eric l- u know why there's no fogs? cuz people dont wanna be permanantly blinded from behind. the q has 7 reflector lenses for it's xenon headlamps as it is, and are supposed to have better visibility than headlamps w/ foglamps on. therefore foglamps were not put on the q. and just wait til u see the impul bumper on the sucker.

but guys that car looks good. I sat in it at detroit. the headlights are just awsome IMO. Well its faster then a Maxima if anything

 

The front looks like the front of the crown victoria--with those horizontal lines and all, of course, I do miss the waterfall grill that they use to have.
but hopefully--it will be better than a crown vic.
