for those who got their FSTB from Courtesy
What's up people........I have a 2001 Max SE and i just ordered my FSTB from Courtesy. I noticed while I was checking out that the product description for the FSTB for 2001 Max's said, "strut bar for 1989-2001 models" now I heard that if you get a fstb from courtesy for the 2001 model there is no hacking or cutting involved in the installation, but the way the product was described made me a little nervous. Do I have anything to worry about? I mean.........I don't want to have to cut anything to install the fstb. Wouldn't the product description be a little more specific or am I just worrying about nothing?
just ordered mine tonight...i clicked on add to basket of a 2000-2001 fstb, but when you are checking out, it DOES say 1989-2001 Nissan Maxima FSTB even though i'm sure i added the 2000-2001 to the basket...well, right after i ordered it, i emailed the courtesy nissan parts email and told them to be sure to send me the 2000-2001 fstb so i wouldn't have to cut it...i wanted it before the arizona meet this saturday so i got 3 day shipping for 15 rather than ground rate for 8...all in all, it cost 105.81...not bad, hopefully it will work out well for me...next for suspension is a rsb and for performance a y-pipe and a cattman or place racing cai
I also ordered through the web site and thought I would not have to do any cutting. Unfortunately, I did have to do a little grinding when I installed it on my 2001. I called Courtesy and was possibly given some B.S. Maybe you can get to the bottom of this. See my post.

I did a slight bit of grinding on mine also since the existing bracket on the perch does keep the FSTB's flange from sitting down all the way, however I don't think it was absolutely necessary. I believe that if you just reef down the strut tower bolts, the bracket would conform to the proper shape and still look okay.
