Bore/Stroke - Displacement?

The new 2002 3.5l post made me think(which is bad)
has anyone on the board had their engine and crankshaft bored/stroked???
and wouldnt this be and alternative to the s/c's and turbos keeping the car N/A(which is better depending on your viewpoint, the max rpms wouldnt be as high)...just wondering
