which radar detector would u recomend? and why please? thnx

Second.. I'm getting a Bel 980 (~$220 on ebay).

Third, the other two to consider are the escort 8500 and the V1.

 

ye search... i kno there wasnt any talk about radars recently and who knows since the last time anyone did talk about radars... new ones came out since then... i just read about uniden... it seems good... my friend has one... has anyone heard anything about it?

 

I agree PD here. I have the Passport 8500 and had a Bel 980 for a few weeks before I sold it on eBay. Both are VERY good. Several tests put them 1 and 2 in comparison tests with others in their class. The Passport gives slightly less falses and has the same peformance of the Bel. Also consider the Bel 950. It's the same internals as the 980, but with fewer features. That runs around $180. If you have the money ($299) go for the Passport 8500. Don't even consider the 7500.

Get a Bel or Passport, there some of the best now. Don't waste your money on a V1, it is very old and very false alerting now.

Whisler is one of the worse on the list to get, stay away from them.
