Hi All,
Got caught in the mid-atlantic storm yesterday. 2nd time this winter in a 1ft snowfall. I have 225/55/16 Dunlop SP Sport 5000s and they're not good in deep snow. They're very good in dry and wet, and "good enough" in shallow snow. Strangely, the Dunlops are rated best in category at TireRack

For winter tires, Blizzaks and Guardex are mentioned in the posts when I search (and what tirerack and discounttire offer in their packages), but no mention of the higher rated tires at tirerack
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/winter.jsp
Dunlop Winter Sport M2 looks good because of it's good dry/wet ratings and superior marks on the right side of the chart, as well as very good snow traction.
The Pirelli Winter 210 Asym looks great except for subpar snow performance in the category (and it is for snow, right?)
I've also looked at http://www.nokiantires.com, but have no basis for comparison. I won't need studded tires in Philly.
For summer, I've pretty much locked in to Potenza RE730s or Firehawk SZ50 EPs. The Kumho Ecsta 712 looks interesting because of the low price and decent performance.
Any opinions on these or other recommendations?
