OK now. I've been looking closely @ the threads regarding check engine codes and have noticed the term "Ghost Code" what is that? For example, on my 95 GXE. I pulled the code 0304 (K-Sensor) then it puked the code 0407 which allegedly means Crankshaft Position Sensor is bad. So which if any of those is a "Ghost Code". P.S. My check engine light came on after I replaced the starter. Could that procedure have affected those sensors????

 

After getting those codes, I reset the ECU and the check engine light has not come back on since then (8/1). I don't get it.

 

If you had a bad crank sensor i would think the code would come right back and your car probably wouldn't start... I would only make an issue of it if they return..could also be an intermitant problem...

 

if in dout test with a Ohm/volt meter before replacing. A few months ago my speedometer went bad and it was giving me a bad speed sensor code. I replaced the speed sensor and it didnt fix the problem...this is a prefect example why we should always test the component before replacing it.

 

Your starter replacement really should have nothing to do with it. The Ghost code in your case would be the 0304 KS error.
