Help: Airbag Cover!

I tried to find something with the search feature but turned up nothing so here it is:

Does anyone else have a discolored, sticky, ugly *** airbag cover?

It looks like mine is from a different car! Either the sun screwed up the paint or something, i cant stand it.

Is this common?
How did some of you remedy this?

Help!

Re: Help: Airbag Cover!

Let me guess... you have a Pebble Beige Max and it's the passenger-side airbag cover, right? Mine's doing the same thing. I was cleaning what I thought was some dirt off of it one day - ended up making it worse, since I was taking the paint off and it's a darker color underneath. You have to repaint it and there is a kit made to help color-match. When I find it I will post where to get it, and I plan to do a writeup with pics. Sorry I don't have any more info; hopefully someone else does and can enlighten us. I know we're not the only ones.

I have gray interior and my passenger airbag cover was all scratched and discolored, so I repainted it. I used the SEM brand of vinyl spray paint since I heard a lot of good things about it. Found it in NAPA. Almost 100% match. Dunno about beige though.
It seems that the airbag cover is made from the different material so that the airbag can work properly, but it also seems that material is prone to discoloration and scratches.

Dang, it even happens when you take care of it? I dont guess Nissan did any long term tests on it

Libra,
That would kick **** man, i hope you can find the paint and post when you do figure a way to get it redone well.

Anyone ever tried replacing it with another factory one? I wonder if they fixed it on the new covers they sell?

And theyre prolly expensive, not to mention i have no idea how to do it

AFAIK the airbag cover does not come without the airbag = $700 - $800
