e-brake light randomly comes on...

sometimes when i start my car it's on and won't go off even if i make sure the brake is disengaged(sp?). then randomly it turns off a few minutes after driving. and on occasion, turns back on when driving. i just got new front pads and rotors last week but everything feels great. i also tried fixing my gauges and had the cluster out but am not sure if that would cause it to malfunction. any ideas?

mine did that for awhile. I changed opened up the rear calipers and took out the pads and put them back in. For some reason, that ended that problem You can give that a shot, its only a 15 min job

I had same thing two days ago. As mentioned above, the first thing to check would be your brake fluid level. Checking anything else first is a waste of time (refill with DOT 3 brake fluid).

for the brake fluid in the reservoir.

It could be that with the motion of the car, the low level switch is being triggered and that switches on the brake warning lamp.

If your reservoir is full, then it would either be:
a) faulty brake level switch
b) faulty pkb sw
c) other (wire short, etc)
