Not starting when hot -Please Help-

Any one hear of this before?

When I've been parked in direct sunlight or it is a abnormaly hot day, I turn the key and get nothing. The strange thing is if I open the windows for a bit the engine turns and starts. I haven't been able to locate where my problem is. I have tested my battery and electrical and everything checks good and functions normally. Should I be looking at the starter, alternator, or am I looking in all the wrong places?

-Thanks-

Your ignition switch might be failing.

I actually had the same thing happen to me before. (Differnet circumstance though.) I ended up getting a new battery which helped for a while, but happened again a few months later. After that I replaced my battery connections and I have not had it happen to me in a few years.

My clock and headunit do not loose their settings when my car doesn't start.
