My fuel guage is acting funny

For about a month or so I have noticed the fuel guage acting funny. When I put in a full tank of gas the needle goes slightly past the 3/4 mark but not all the way as should.

Another thing I noticed that when I put the key onto the "ON" position the needle moves up. If I put the key onto the "ON" position again it would move down. Then it would go up the next time I put it onto the on position and so on.

Any inputs or suggestions are appreciated.

I had the same prob with my max, top the tank off and it wont register anything more than 3/4 tank. It was still under warranty the first time and they replaced the sending unit, the gauge itself and i dont remember what else. worked for a while but acted up again. try running your tank to empty and filling up and see if that does anything, it worked for me a few times. i did replace the evap canister valve a while back and havent had it happen to me since, i dunno if that coulda been the problem or not. hope ya figure something out.

I replaced the evap canister and the valve in June. I'll have to take a look at it again. Funny thing is I had the guage problem after the canister and the valve was replaced.
