2K brake job help & questions.

I just ordered Power Slot rotors and Hawk HPS pads.

1. Whats the best way to get the rotors off ?
2. Where should & shouldn't I use brake cleaner ?
3. What's the best grease to use & where on the calipers ?
4. Can I compress the piston w/ a C clamp or is there a tool you attach to a ratchet?

The only brake jobs I have done are simple pad changes. So any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks, Ecko

The rotors float so they will come off as soon as you take off the brake pad bracket. Follow the edge of the brake pad bracket to the back of the rotor and you a large bolt at each end. Remove them and the rotors will come off. If the rotor is stuck tap it with a mallet.

?

Use the blue "brake quiet" grease on the back of each brake pad and between each shim. Let it set for 10 minutes before putting everything together.

Either will work fine. Just try to apply even pressure over the entire piston. Taking the cover off the brake fluid fill will sometimes help with releasing some pressure.
