I'm pretty sure the OEM brake pads are just fine. But good ones that aren't stock are hawk pads and green stuff pads.

ok my friend, I will save you the trouble (actually my troubles). Replace with OEM NISSAN brake pads! I have OEM Brembo Rotors (not sloted or cross drilled), and Axiss Metal Masters brake pads. I will never replace with these loud ,noisy crap again. They grip quite well when warm and does have an above average brake dust problem (a bit too much). I threw out my OEM pads which was practically new. Someone on this org. once said ,"people underestimate the OEM pads ". It is not a direct quote but try to understand.
Goodluck and happy squealing!

I swictched to Raybestos QS when I first got the car about 35k miles ago. When I took out my warped rotors recently to have them machined - the pads had about 25% of pad material left on them, but I also noticed some hairline cracks on the pad surface. So off to Pepboys and got a brand new set under the lifetime warrenty against defects.
I am sure my hairline cracks can be attributed to just a bad batch or something - but I am very happy with the Quiet Stops. In the entire time I have had them - not once have my brakes squealed. The brake dust in manageable and overall I am very happy with them.

Whatever pads you get... make sure you change out your brake fluid with Valvoline Synthetic fluid. It has a boiling point above 500 degrees! I have used several different pads in 137k miles. Until I switched to Synthetic fluid I had pedal fade, spongy pedal, and inconsistent stopping. It's cheaper than racing fluid and is worth the time and money!!!!

I've got Raybestos QS. The quietness of them is more important to me than the stopping power. Not a squeak from them yet.

Yeah, I've always felt that it's good that the guy in front of me won't hear me coming just before I hit him. All of that damn harding braking noise could kill ya!
