Org members running 235/45/17 ContiExtremeContact ??????

Have you guys had any problems/issues running this size on your stock SE rims?? I have read the articles regarding tire sizes and I know this size is not recommended, but I also know quite a few org members run this size tire and supposedly have had no problems. My questions are these:

Any problems running this size??
Can/do you drive agressive still??
Any advice on driving do's/don'ts while running this size??

I am looking to buy these tires in this size, but I wanted to get some feedback from fellow org members regarding their experiences with this size.

Hey I am lookig into getting new tires too, either ContiExtreme or Sumotimo HTR+ in that 235/45 R17 size. I read many threads too and seems like many people here do run that size with no problems. Just check tire pressure more often and that is it.

I am not sure, but I thought regular 32 all around will do. Maybe a little higher like 33-34.

I don't have stock wheels (17X7 Nakayama GTRs) but I have 235/45 tires. I've driven 100% of the car's capabilities without any problems.

However, after reading TONS of posts on this subject, I have no reason whatsoever to whine and complain if my tires suddenly come off my wheels during a hard turn. From what I've read/heard, this tire size is not recommended from a 7-inch wheel. But there sure are a ton of people on the org that have them and I haven't heard one horror story yet (knocking on wood).

I called tirerack.com and checked their website. They recommend that size as 'ok' for our stock rims. I also talked to someone at the local tire store (big chain, forgot the name) and he said that size is fine.

I do not know about the quality of those specific tires, though. Let us know what you end up doing!!

I'm also looking at the 235/45/17 ContiExtremeContact for my 2002 Maxima. Those goodyears they offer don't have a nice a rating as the Conti. And I'm sure as hell am not going to get the Bridgstones RE again they suck!!! If you get them tell me how you like them. I need a nice tire that will do for the summer and the Chicago winters. 2002 has a lot of torque.

raymond 3414,

I guess we're in teh same boat since I live north of you in Waukegan. I have had my eye on some Pilot Sport A/S, but damn are they expensive. I have been reading some good reviews about the ContiExtreme, and their price makes them very tempting. I'll keep you posted on what I do.

Before I upgraded to 18's, I ran 235/50/17 Michelin Pilots with no problem.
