Remove swirl control valves?

Anyone remove the Swirl control valves to get an HP gain?

I noticed the 2000 Federal models do not have them but 2000 calif and 2001+ all have them.

I wanted to know if the HP gain would be worth the trouble of removing them.

Thanks

They probably can't be removed at all... as they're probably cast into the intake plenum like the VIAS valves. You could disable it somehow (disconnect the Swirl control valve harness?)

There cast into the intake, and they only operate when the car is cold. Once your up to operating temp they remain open.

I am sure it can be done but is it worth the trouble.

It looks like it would require removal of the upper and lower intake manifold. Removal of the valve plates and the actuator shafts. Would have to expoy the holes left in the lower intake where the shafts went through. Would be a good time to port and polish the lower intake.

But is it worth the work?? Anyone? shall I be the first?
