...And I thought the little things don't get noticed...

So I am at Discount Tire getting my new Falken Ziex 512's put on this afternoon (love them so far by the way) and I am at the counter bs'ing with the sales rep and a thirty-something black guy walks in from the parking lot and hears me say to the rep the Black '02 Max is mine... He says 'hey man are those clear lights on the side custom???'

I said 'yeah I guess, I put them on after I bought the car, it came w/ red/orange etc... blah blah blah'

He was like 'wow it looks really clean man'...

So that made my day to know people actually do notice the mods from time to time, even though my car was dirty and most of my mods are pretty subtle (H&R, clear corners, etc.)... So if you ever think you are the only one who cares/notices your mods... There is always someone who notices too.

I think that's the number reason why I never added them. I don't want anyone noticing my car, or trying to jack my system : ] THey do look real cool though.

I put the clears on my car but actually put colored bulbs in , front yellow and rear red. Looks great in the day and well at night it gives off a totally different color.

I put LED lights in mine so they would look "normal" at night, but I'd get the sweet clear look in the daytime.

Are the tires for your stock 17's? How much did they cost?

...Yes, Falken Ziex ZE 512, its 225/50 r17 so its totally stock size, but in my first few days of driving I must say a vast improvement over the Bridgestones, the Falkens were $107 a tire at Discount... I think Vulcan Tire has them online in that size for $103, but you have to pay shipping and get them mounted somewhere... By comparison the Bridgestone factory tires are $160 at TireRack.com...
