2002 6pd Maxima on Craigslist: Is it worth it?

Hey guys,

I found a 2002 Maxima on Craigslist and I was wondering what you guys thought of it. I saw the engine bay which looked a little unfamiliar to me because the valve cover is something i've never seen before on most Maximas.

Another thing I noticed is the headlights - It looks like its from the 2000 year. Any thoughts?

Let me know!

its a 2001 anniversary edition with the 3.0 engine, not an 02 with the 3.5. the 3.0 should run forever but won't have the same power as the 3.5.

it looks clean, relatively low miles. not the best pictures so some imperfections might be hidden

imho it seems overpriced

edit- realizing now you're in canadia so 113 kilometers is super low mileage. check for rust too, especially front radiator support. price seems reasonable considering canada dollars

Also when buying a car never go check it out at night.
His night pictures tell me it's going to be a POS.

If that's overpriced you're going to sh*t when you see what I list mine for. Good to see another Vancouver person around though! If you grab a Max we can meet up somewhere and hang out.

i wouldnt buy it for the simple fact that the guy doesnt know what hes talking about, or is just straight up lying about some things

-wrong model year listed
-says his spoiler and black SE tails are a part of the anniversary package (theyre not)
-18 inch wheels when theyre 17s
-inflated horsepower numbers

hes either an idiot and likely maintained it poorly or hes making things up to try and sweeten the deal. both are sketchy

also its overpriced

Horsepower rating listed is correct. The 20th anniversary had more power and torque

Yes I know

Im saying the car is 14 years old. It's not gonna be getting anywhere near factory HP numbers

i forget you guys use that funny money up there with your loonies and toonies and whatnot. doing the current conversion $5500 CAD is around $4200 USD which does seem more reasonable if the car is in EXCELLENT condition.

I would call him out on the year being wrong and see how he responds, if he is a jerk about it then pass on the car....

There is a weird mismatch between the year (2002) and the engine (3.0L). 2002's come with a 3.5L engine, at least here in the US. Moreover, if the engine is indeed a 3.0L, then valve cover is very different from that on my 2000 Max (3.0L). And yes, the night pictures are suspicious.
